Food Network features Bove’s Cafe
When I received the phone call this summer that the Food Network was interested in Bove’s Restaurant, I was naturally excited. The producers told me that Bove’s restaurant was selected for a show called Food for Thought. I thought after I made all those audition tapes, that Bobby Flay was coming. They assured me that wasn’t the case.
I’m not even sure if I can sum up my emotions on this, but, on October 12th 2007, internationally known restaurateur Bobby Flay ventured into Bove’s country in beautiful Burlington, VT with the intent to best the Queen’s City favorite sauceboy (me) at a lasagna-making contest. In short, I threw down with Bobby Flay!
It was a great time and a tremendous honor for me and my family. I look forward sharing this honor with all of you because without your belief in Bove’s and the sauce, this would not have taken place. I will post the times when this episode will appear on the Food Network. Keep an eye on the website for more details.
In my next post, I will take all of you behind the scenes and show you pictures and share my feelings during the event. Stay tuned.

Me and my sis, niece and and mom fell in love with your lasagna through the television. Sadly, we live in California. We sat there with our mouths watering! We consider ourselves to be lasagna connoisseurs. I love Bobby but I have to say….that was not lasagna! Maybe foo foo judges? All four of us were so disappointed. We enjoyed watching your family and sharing your yummy lasagna with us!

@ lizarevalo thanks. I am glad that you liked the show. My family and friends were pretty psyched watching it. I’m glad that I made everyone hungry. That was only lasagna. You should see what other dishes I make that would make your mouth water!
@ amandam Thank you. And thank you for watching the show.

Just saw the Throwdown … well Bobby I’ll bet your Lasagna was just devine, but I thought the whole point of ‘LASAGNA” was like Mama used to make .. Bove’s “squishes” the meatballs just like my Mama ! I live in Rhode Island … going to visit my niece @ Univ of Vermont and going to demand we go there for Wed night Lasagna night … just have to count those layers …

@pompaws:
Thanks for the email. There have been lots of emails from all over the country wanting my lasagna. Everyone is drooling for it
Which is a great thing! I am suggesting that people can order the sauce and the meatballs and take my recipe off my website and tackle the lasagna. Cooking for me is fun and I want everyone to taste and experience my lasagna as featured on the Food Network. As Mr. Flay said ” I could eat this all day”, “this lasagna is fantastic”, that really sums it up.
If people are unsure after reading the recipe, I want you to call me or email me. I will try to help everyone out as much as possible. If you dont reach myself, someone in the family as seen me make lasagna
They will be able to help you.

Bobby,
What kindness and happiness!! I’m a good Catholic girl from Baltimore, who gave up meat for my Lenten purification. Then my children had me watch the Food Network one day and I saw your show. We’re having Lasagne for Easter dinner this year!! Just to prove how good God is, I went to your site and you actually shared your beautiful recipe with the world. True Charity. We will toast you and your blessed family on that day. Thank you for spreading joy!!!

Trudie…
Life is either a daring adventure or nothing. To keep our faces toward change and behave like free spirits in the presence of fate is strength undefeatable….
