The Results are in . . .

Monday, January 21st, 2008

I mentioned that everyone would be surprised with the results. Bobby–or, since I lost, Mr. Flay–did have a great tasting lasagna, but he noted there were 2 different styles: contemporary and traditional. Contemporary defeated traditional on that day, but there are reasons why traditions live on. During the episode, when Bobby was interviewing people on the street, one person said that when she conceptualized lasagna, she pictured it as 8 layers of pleasure. I hope everyone gets that same image when they taste our lasagna :)

The emails are pouring in and I humbly appreciate all of the support. Most of the emails contain requests for us to ship the lasagna. Unfortunately, it’s a very difficult request, but people can check out our recipe page for the original recipe: Nonna’s lasagna. Creating our signature dish needs the secret ingredients: the sauce and meatballs. There is a possibility that your store already carries both. If they don’t, please let them know you would like them to carry them. Stores listen very carefully to their customers. It may be worth mentioning that you saw our sauce and meatballs on the Food Network show Throwdown with Bobby Flay. If that doesn’t get their attention . . . you might want to shop somewhere else . . . ;)

I give my sincerest thanks to everyone who watched the show. Just in case that you missed it, check the Food Network’s site for the future listings. If the show enticed you, come and see us at the restaurant. Please ask for the Sauceboy when you get there . . . and remember . . . “What’s Wednesday night?”

Remember you can visit our website and send a note to us after the show, or feel free to leave a comment here. I think the Food Network would love to read everyone’s responses, especially the reactions when people find out who wins.

I want everyone to know that this show of Throw Down with Bobby Flay is for all of our loyal customers and people that have believed in Bove’s.  We are  thankful for the Food Network for recognizing our time honored tradition of making great sauce!  So I am declaring that Sunday night is pasta night!  (try the vodka sauce if you can& enjoy the show) :)

An Invitation for All

Tuesday, January 8th, 2008

On Thursday, January 10th at 8PM, I would like to invite everyone to join the set of the popular late night TV show called “Late Night with Tim Kavanagh.” This local show shares format similarities with the David Letterman show. They have some great local bands, interviews, and give-a-ways. It’s filmed at Champlain College in the Auditorium. Tim and I discussed handing out sauce for the studio audience and I’ll cook my latest creation: the SweetZa.

I’ll share my experiences about being immersed in the Throwdown with Bobby Flay, plus a few “behind-the-scenes” moments with the Iron Chef, himself. Of course, I can’t say who won, but you’ll be very surprised with the results ;)

I hope to see you there.
